About Hypnosis and Trance States
Trance is a state of mind and body in which we are relaxed, open to other ways of perceiving, suggestable, and deeply attuned to our inner truth and knowing. Hypnosis is a modality that harnesses and utilizes the natural state of trance therapeutically to create and evoke shifts in your subconscious programming, as well as access parts and selves of our internal landscape who seek our attention. Many folks enter states of trance frequently throughout the day without knowing. You may experience states of trance while meditating, doing dishes, dancing, scrolling on social media, watching television, driving on highways, masturbating, having sex, exercising, walking, reading, and more. These are all examples of ways we may enter into trance—activating our internal reality—allowing our conscious minds to rest, and our body, heart, and spirit wisdom to rise up.
Our subconscious fabric contains our histories and memories—each piece of stimuli our body has ever experienced—along with our truths, wisdoms, and innate knowing. Our conscious minds only access a small percentage of what our subconscious holds and is comprised of. Hypnosis is like pulling back the curtain of our conscious mind where we may enter into the rich and potent realm of our bodymindspirits. Here where we can create profound transformation.
Trance Work, often called hypnosis, is a space to maneuver this intuitive, wise state with intent to evoke your own innate knowing, integrate fragmented parts of the self, release beliefs no longer supporting you, and to promote new ways of seeing and experiencing the world. Trance is a safe, comfortable state that your body is likely already familiar with. The difference between the trance you may experience daily and the type you may experience in a hypnosis session is that you are entering this space with intention to create and evoke the subconscious reality you seek—one more aligned with your authentic nature. While in trance you will still have access to your wants, your autonomy, your moral compass, and your ability to say no! Through my own experiences both in states of trance and facilitating states of hypnosis, I believe our connection with our own innate wants, beliefs, and directions is at its strongest while in trance, whether stumbled upon or facilitated by a practitioner.

Hypnosis is not a substitute for seeing primary physicians, seeking psychiatric care, or talk therapy. In the event that we engage with a health-related issue, it is after the client has explored the medical realm first, and in the appropriate context has been given the go-ahead by a physician to explore relief through hypnosis or trance.
Hypnosis is what is called a “brief” therapy as situations often find change and resolution quickly within a few sessions. It is not the kind of therapy you will need to continue on with indefinitely to see results.
I offer free fifteen-minute phone consultations to discuss what you seek with hypnosis to see if we are a good fit to work together. During consultations I will be able to quote a number of sessions for the project and the price of the project as a whole. I will note that if, for example, a particular client is quoted four sessions for the results they wish, the changes will not be done in one session. All of the sessions will be necessary for satisfying, lasting change.
Lastly and importantly— hypnosis is a relaxing and soothing practice known to evoke clarity and calm, as well as improve sleep and overall mood. Hypnosis is a wonderfully relaxing experience often offering invaluable tools to take forward into your daily life.
